Some people are able to project quite easily while it takes lots of effort for others to learn. I took me about 6 months of practice until my first conscious projection.
By meditation do you mean that you were focused on one thing like your breath or heart or a mantra or something like that? That would be considered focused concentration.
Meditation is a practice where you completely empty or silence your mind, no thoughts or images just silence.
Not sure what you were doing but from your description of the vibrations I would guess a focused concentration exercise.
Yes, you do leave your body when you sleep. Actually we all do every night but we usually we just aren’t aware it.

You’re getting things mixed up….meditation is just breathing and relaxing the body…an OBE isn’t the same as astral projection either…google it
